In order to fill four (4) open positions on its campus in Moshono, Arusha, Tabasamu Training College has advertised new job opportunities for qualified and experienced Tanzanian applicants. There are openings in the fields of vocational training and college administration.
The National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) has registered Tabasamu Training College as a vocational education and training organization under Registration No. REG/NACTVET/1240. The College’s main goal is to give young people practical skills and high-quality technical and vocational education.

1. Principal – 1 Post
Location: Moshono, Arusha
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Board of Directors
Duties and Responsibilities
The Principal will provide overall leadership, administration, academic management and institutional development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic leadership and direction to the College.
- Overseeing NACTVET-approved NVA and short-course programmes.
- Ensuring compliance with NACTVET requirements and applicable laws.
- Managing and supervising teaching, administrative and support staff.
- Developing and implementing strategic and annual operational plans.
- Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, assessment and student welfare.
- Managing College budgets, resources, facilities and equipment.
- Building partnerships with industry, employers, government agencies and other stakeholders.
- Supporting curriculum delivery that responds to labour-market needs.
- Overseeing student recruitment, retention, discipline and career development.
- Preparing reports for the Board and relevant authorities.
- Promoting professionalism, innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Vocational Education or Technical Education from a recognised institution. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
- At least two (2) years of relevant professional experience.
- Significant experience in vocational or technical education or educational management.
- Experience in a senior management or leadership position in a vocational college, technical institution, training centre or similar organisation.
- Knowledge of vocational education and training systems, quality assurance and NACTVET accreditation requirements.
- Experience in staff management, financial administration and institutional planning.
- Strong leadership, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy and ability to use education-management systems.
- High integrity and professionalism.
2. Food Production (Cookery) – 1 Post
Location: Moshono, Arusha
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Principal
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Teach practical and theoretical Food Production, Cookery and Catering.
- Prepare and deliver lessons, lesson plans and assessments.
- Demonstrate food preparation, cooking, presentation, nutrition and kitchen management.
- Train students in food hygiene, safety and professional kitchen practices.
- Assess students’ practical and theoretical work.
- Supervise practical training sessions.
- Maintain kitchen equipment, tools and training materials.
- Ensure a clean, safe and professional learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Cookery, Food Production, Catering, Hospitality or a related field.
- At least two (2) years of relevant practical or teaching experience.
- Teaching or training qualification is an added advantage.
- Ability to demonstrate practical cooking techniques and manage a training kitchen.
- Good communication and classroom-management skills.
- High standards of hygiene, discipline and professionalism.
3. Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy – 1 Post
Location: Moshono, Arusha
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Principal
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Teaching practical and theoretical Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy.
- Demonstrating hair cutting, washing, blow-drying, braiding, styling, colouring and hair treatments.
- Preparing lesson plans, practical assessments and student progress reports.
- Training students in client consultation, hygiene, salon safety and professional presentation.
- Supervising practical sessions and proper use of equipment and products.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and professional training salon.
- Keeping training content aligned with current professional practices.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hair Dressing, Beauty Therapy, Cosmetology or a related field.
- At least two (2) years of relevant professional or teaching experience.
- Teaching or training qualification is an added advantage.
- Competence in hairstyling, braiding, hair treatments and customer care.
- Good communication and classroom-management skills.
- Creativity, reliability and professionalism.
4. Computer Applications – 1 Post
Location: Moshono, Arusha
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Principal
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Teach Computer Applications and Advanced Computer Skills.
- Teach Media, including photography, video shooting and video production.
- Teach Artificial Intelligence (AI) at a level appropriate to the College’s vocational programmes.
- Teach computer applications, internet use and digital skills.
- Prepare lesson plans, assignments, tests and examinations.
- Assess students’ performance.
- Supervise computer laboratory and media practical sessions.
- Ensure proper use and care of IT, photography and video equipment.
- Keep up to date with developments in computing, media production and AI.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Media or a related field.
- At least two (2) years of relevant teaching or industry experience.
- Competence in advanced computer skills, photography, video shooting, video production and artificial intelligence.
- Teaching or training qualification is an added advantage.
- Ability to teach both theory and practical skills.
- Strong communication, classroom-management and organisational skills.
