Kiteto District Council has announced two (2) job vacancies for qualified Tanzanian citizens. The recruitment has been approved by the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance (PO-PSMGG).
Qualified and eligible Tanzanians are invited to apply for the following position:
1.0 DRIVER II – 2 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for performing the following duties:
- Inspect the vehicle before and after each journey to ensure that it is in safe working condition.
- Transport government employees to various destinations on official duties.
- Carry out minor vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain and update the vehicle logbook for all official journeys.
- Collect and distribute various documents.
- Clean and maintain the assigned vehicle.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants for the Driver II position must meet the following requirements:
- Possess a Form IV Certificate of Secondary Education.
- Have a valid Class E or Class C Driving Licence.
- Have at least one (1) year of driving experience without causing an accident.
- Possess driving training certificates that qualified the applicant to obtain the relevant driving licence class.
- Have completed a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or another institution recognized by the Government.

General Conditions for Applicants
All applicants are required to observe the following conditions:
- Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years.
- Applicants must attach a detailed and up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV) containing their current address, reliable telephone numbers, email address and names of three (3) reliable referees.
- Applications must be accompanied by certified copies of academic and professional certificates. The certificates should be certified by a Lawyer/Advocate.
- Applicants should attach the relevant educational and professional certificates according to the requirements of the advertised position, including Form IV/Form VI certificates and certificates for professional or other relevant training.
- Testimonials, provisional results, statements of results and Form IV/Form VI results slips will NOT be accepted. Candidates submitting such documents will not be allowed to proceed with the interview.
- Applicants who obtained their qualifications outside Tanzania must ensure that their certificates have been verified and authenticated by the relevant authorities, including TCU, NECTA or NACTVET, as applicable.
- Retired public servants are not permitted to apply unless they have obtained permission from the Chief Secretary.
- Applicants for the Driver II position with Class E or Class C licences must attach driving training certificates that enabled them to obtain the relevant licence class.
- Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions within the Public Service should not apply and must observe the instructions contained in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
- Applicants who submit forged information or false qualifications will be subject to legal action.
- Candidates whose names differ on their academic or professional documents must submit a registered Deed Poll for change of name.
- Applications submitted outside the prescribed procedure will not be considered.
