Bariadi Town Council has announced two (2) job vacancies for qualified Tanzanian citizens following approval from the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance.
Qualified and eligible applicants are invited to apply for the position of Driver Grade II as detailed below.
1.0 DRIVER GRADE II – 2 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Inspect the vehicle before and after every trip to ensure that it is in a safe and roadworthy condition.
- Transport public servants to various locations on official duties.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance of the vehicle.
- Maintain and properly update the vehicle logbook for all journeys.
- Collect and distribute various official documents.
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good condition.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants for the Driver Grade II position must meet the following requirements:
- Possess a Form IV/Certificate of Secondary Education.
- Possess a valid Class E or Class C driving licence.
- Have at least one (1) year of driving experience without causing an accident.
- Possess certificates of driving training that qualify the applicant to obtain the relevant driving licence class.
- Have attended a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or another government-recognized institution.

General Application Requirements
Applicants are required to observe the following conditions:
- Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens and must not be more than 45 years of age.

- Form IV or Form VI certificates
- Professional and academic certificates
- Postgraduate/Degree certificates
- Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificate
- Computer certificates where applicable
- Professional certificates from relevant professional boards
- Applicants who submit Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statements of Results, or Form IV/Form VI results slips will not be accepted and will not be allowed to proceed with the interview.
- Applicants who obtained their education outside Tanzania must ensure that their certificates have been verified and authenticated by the relevant authorities, including TCU, NECTA or NACTVET, as applicable.
- Public servants who have been retired from government service are not eligible to apply, unless they have obtained permission from the Chief Secretary.
- Applicants applying for Driver Grade II positions who possess Class E or Class C licences must attach certificates of driving training that enabled them to obtain the relevant licence class.
- Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions within the Public Service should not apply and are required to comply with the instructions contained in Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30 November 2010.
- Applicants who provide false information or forged qualifications/documents will be subject to legal action.
- Applicants whose names differ across their academic or other official documents must submit a legally registered Deed Poll for change of name issued through the relevant authorities.
