1. INSTRUCTOR II – CIVIL ENGINEER – 1 Post
Salary Scale: TRCS 6
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct short courses, seminars, and pedagogical/instructional methods courses.
- Prepare course and lesson plans for assigned subjects.
- Supervise students during practical training.
- Follow up and submit post-training evaluations.
- Plan and organize traffic programmes.
- Conduct courses and seminars for senior TRC staff.
- Collect and analyze information and data related to the area of specialization.
- Audit training objectives and course content and recommend required training equipment and materials.
- Evaluate instructors and prepare appropriate reports.
- Conduct research and consultations on training matters in liaison with relevant TRC officers.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (NTA Level 8 or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or an equivalent relevant field, with a minimum GPA of 3.5 from a recognized institution. Applicants must be eligible for registration as technical teachers and registered by the respective Board as Graduate Engineers/Professionals.
2. INSTRUCTOR II – MECHANICAL ENGINEER – 1 Post

Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience

3. ARTISAN II – AUTO ELECTRIC – 5 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in plants, machinery, and motor vehicles.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults in equipment and machinery.
- Conduct preventive maintenance of electrical components.
- Test and replace faulty electrical parts and systems.
- Support installation and commissioning of electrical equipment.
- Perform other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess a Form IV Certificate together with CBET Level II/III Certificate, Trade Test Grade I/II Certificate, or NVA II/III in Auto Electric, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
4. TECHNICIAN II – AUTOMOBILE – 4 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and participate in the maintenance and repair of plants, machinery, motor vehicles, and construction equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil and brake changes.
- Repair or replace worn, old, or defective vehicle parts and test systems after repairs.
- Maintain detailed repair records.
- Communicate diagnosed problems, required repairs, and timelines to service advisors.
- Ensure tools and work areas are clean, operational, and safe.
- Keep up to date with modern automotive technology and repair practices.
Qualifications and Experience
Holder of Form IV/VI with Diploma/NTA Level 6 in Automobile Engineering, Automotive Mechanics, or other relevant qualifications from a recognized institution.
5. TECHNICIAN II – HYDRAULIC MACHINERIES – 2 Posts
Salary Scale: TRCS 3
Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertake maintenance of rolling stock and locomotives.
- Maintain workshop machinery and plants.
- Service refrigeration and air-conditioning facilities.
- Service mechanical handling equipment and ancillary plants.
- Assist supervisors in maintaining records.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold Form IV/VI with Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Hydraulic Machineries, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
6. ENGINEER II – SIGNAL & TELECOMMUNICATION – 1 Post
Salary Scale: TRCS 6
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining Signal and Telecommunication (S&T) equipment and systems.
- Assist in installing SGR and MGR signals, telecommunication networks, and related equipment.
- Assist in preparing specifications for procurement of signal and telecommunication equipment.
- Prepare technical plans and designs for signal and telecommunication projects.
- Prepare and submit periodic technical reports.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution, and must be registered by the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Graduate Engineer.
7. LOCOMOTIVE DRIVER II – 10 Posts
Salary Scale: TRCS 3
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform shunting duties within station yards, sidings, and running depots at the home station.
- Check locomotive fitness before use.
- Report any problems identified during locomotive operation.
- Record important events occurring during shunting operations.
- Record fuel balance at the beginning and end of shunting duties.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold a Form IV Academic Certificate, together with a 2-year Locomotive Driving Certificate or Locomotive Shunting Certificate offered by TIRTEC or another recognized institution, and possess a Class F or G Driving Licence.
