1. Assistant Lecturer – Information Technology
Number of Posts: 1
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Information Security or Information Systems with a GPA of at least 3.8, and a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field with a GPA of at least 3.5.
Salary Scale: PHTS 2.1
2. Assistant Lecturer – Civil Engineering
Number of Posts: 2
Applicants should have a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Structural Engineering, Highway Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Railway Engineering (Civil Infrastructure), Geotechnical Engineering or Material Engineering, with a GPA of at least 3.8, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a GPA of at least 3.5.
Salary Scale: PHTS 2.1
3. Assistant Lecturer – Mechanical Engineering
Number of Posts: 1
Applicants should hold a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with Transportation Machinery, Production Engineering or a related field with a GPA of at least 3.8, together with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a GPA of at least 3.5.

4. Assistant Lecturer – Shipping and Port Management
Number of Posts: 1
Applicants should possess a relevant Master’s Degree in Port Management, Shipping and Port Management, Maritime Affairs, or International Logistics and Port Management with a GPA of at least 3.8, plus a relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a GPA of at least 3.5.
Professional certification from recognized maritime or international trade institutes is an added advantage.

5. Assistant Lecturer – Pipeline, Oil and Gas Engineering
Number of Posts: 2
Applicants should hold a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Pipeline Technology, Oil and Gas Technology or equivalent qualifications with a GPA of at least 3.8, and a relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a GPA of at least 3.5.

6. Assistant Lecturer – Logistics and Transport Management

Applicants should have a Master’s Degree in Logistics and Transport Management, International Transport and Logistics Management, International Logistics and Transport Management, Air Transport Management, Rural and Urban Transport Management, Railway Transport Management, Maritime Logistics and Shipping Management or related fields, with a GPA of at least 3.8.
A relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a GPA of at least 3.5 is also required.

7. Assistant Lecturer – Road and Railway Transport Management

Applicants should possess a relevant Master’s Degree in Logistics and Transport Management, International Transport and Logistics Management, International Logistics and Transport Management, Air Transport Management, Rural and Urban Transport Management, Rail Transport Management or Maritime Logistics and Shipping Management with a GPA of at least 3.8.
A relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a GPA of at least 3.5 is required.

8. Tutor II – Shipping and Port Management

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Shipping and Port Logistics Management or Shipping and Logistics Management with a GPA of at least 3.0.
Relevant professional certification is an added advantage.

9. Assistant Lecturer – Air Transport Management

Applicants should hold a Master’s Degree in Airport Operations Management, Airport Planning and Management, Air Transport Management, Aviation Management, Sustainable Air Transport Management, Air Transport, or Air Transport and Logistics with a GPA of at least 3.8.
A relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a GPA of at least 3.5 is also required.

10. Assistant Lecturer – Maritime Safety, Security and Environmental Management
Number of Posts: 1
Applicants should possess a relevant Master’s Degree in Maritime Safety, Security and Environmental Management, Maritime Safety and Environment, Maritime Safety, Maritime Security, Nautical Science, Marine Environmental Protection, Maritime Transport Management or related fields with a GPA of at least 3.8.
A relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a GPA of at least 3.5 is required.
Professional certification from recognized maritime, shipping or international trade institutes is an added advantage.

11. Assistant Lecturer – Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
Number of Posts: 1
Applicants should hold a Master’s Degree in Aircraft Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or Aerospace Science with a GPA of at least 3.8, and a relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a GPA of at least 3.5.
A valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence (AMEL) recognized by TCAA is an added advantage.

15. Aircraft Maintenance Instructor II

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Aircraft Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or Aerospace Science with a GPA of at least 3.0, together with a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence (AMEL) recognized by TCAA.

16. Aircraft Maintenance Technician II
Number of Posts: 1
Applicants should possess a Diploma in Aircraft Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering, together with a certificate of completion in an aircraft workshop course approved by TCAA.
Possession of an AMEL recognized by TCAA is an added advantage.

17. Flight Instructor II
Number of Posts: 1
Applicants should have an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) or Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE), plus a valid Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with ME and IR in the aircraft category used for training and at least 250 logged flight hours, including a minimum of 150 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) on the aircraft type used for training.
A Flight Instructor Rating is an added advantage.

General Conditions for NIT Jobs 2026
- Applicants must be citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania and must not be above 45 years of age.
- For vacancies in paramilitary institutions, applicants for non-degree posts must not exceed 25 years, while applicants for degree posts must not exceed 30 years.
