CWT Job Vacancies August 2026: Personal Secretary and Lawyer
The Tanzania Teachers’ Union (CWT) has announced job vacancies for qualified and competent Tanzanian citizens to work with the Union. The announcement covers two (2) categories of vacancies, namely Personal Secretary – 27 Posts and Lawyer – 4 Posts.
Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply in accordance with the requirements outlined in the vacancy announcement.
1. Personal Secretary – 27 Posts
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Have completed Form Four or above.
- Hold a Certificate in Secretarial Studies at NTA Level 4, 5 or 6 recognized by NACTE.
- Have computer and internet skills.
- Have at least two (2) years of working experience.
- Be able to communicate fluently in both Kiswahili and English.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Typing various Union documents.
- Maintaining and organizing various records related to the supervisor’s work.
- Receiving visitors and directing them to the appropriate offices or personnel.
- Receiving official correspondence and presenting it to the supervisor.
- Maintaining cleanliness in the Union office.
- Maintaining confidentiality of office information.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
2. Lawyer – 4 Posts
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution.
- Have attended and completed the Law School and qualified as an Advocate.
- Have excellent written and spoken communication skills in Kiswahili and English.
- Have computer skills.
- Be a Tanzanian citizen.
- Applicants with a teaching profession/qualification will be given priority.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Handling and managing various cases involving the Union and its members before courts and other legally authorized institutions.
- Reading, interpreting and providing guidance on laws and various legal documents.
- Providing legal advice to teachers and the Union.
- Resolving employment-related disputes affecting teachers.
- Following up on the implementation and resolution of various teachers’ challenges with Government offices and employers.
General Application Requirements
Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens and must not be above 45 years of age.
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
- Birth certificate.
- A detailed and updated CV, including a reliable postal address, telephone numbers and names of three referees.
- Academic and professional certificates relevant to the position applied for.
- Form Four and Form Six certificates.
- Professional certificates.
- Evidence of at least two years of relevant work experience.
- Two passport-size photographs, with the applicant’s name written on the back of one photograph.
- Applicants who obtained their qualifications outside Tanzania must have their certificates verified by the relevant authorities, such as TCU or NECTA.
- Submission of forged information or certificates will result in legal action.
- Applications may be written in either Kiswahili or English.
- Only shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview.
