1. Instructor II – Special Education – 2 Posts
Employer: Open University of Tanzania (OUT)
Number of Posts: 2
Salary Scale: PUSS 4.1
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assisting in technical duties that require planning and designing competence in students’ practical activities and projects.
- Assisting in research and development activities.
- Assisting in the maintenance of special needs ICT facilities.
- Assisting in organizing student practical activities.
- Performing any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education in Sign Language or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Applicants must also be computer literate.
2. Technician II – Air Conditioning and Refrigeration – 1 Post
Employer: Open University of Tanzania (OUT)
Number of Posts: 1
Salary Scale: PGSS 5.1
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Inspecting cooling system components.
- Inspecting installations and recommending repairs of electrical works.
- Flushing out old contaminated coolant and replacing it with new coolant.
- Assisting in the repair and maintenance of electrical systems for laboratory or workshop facilities.
- Assisting senior staff in relevant areas of operation.
- Performing any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold a Diploma (NTA Level 6) or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Marine and Refrigeration Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Mzumbe University (MU) Jobs
3. ICT Officer II – Audio Visual – 2 Posts
Employer: Mzumbe University (MU)
Number of Posts: 2
Salary Scale: PGSS 7.1
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assisting in keeping proper records of examination results, minutes, rules and regulations.
- Assisting in taking care of the TV room.
- Maintaining records of required audio-visual equipment.
- Assisting in carrying out repairs of audio-visual equipment and the TV centre.
- Assisting in shooting videos using video cameras according to different occasions.
- Assisting in setting up and adjusting audio-visual equipment.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:
- Multimedia Technology and Animation
- Multimedia Content Development
- Instructional Design
- Instructional Design and Information Technology
An equivalent qualification from a recognized institution will also be considered.
4. Launderer II – 1 Post
Employer: Mzumbe University (MU)
Number of Posts: 1
Salary Scale: PMOSS 1.1
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Collecting soiled hospital bed sheets and nets from wards.
- Maintaining laundry equipment in clean and safe working condition.
- Maintaining the laundry area in a safe condition.
- Providing clean bed sheets and bed nets to departments.
- Laundering and ironing hospital clothing items.
- Reporting worn-out or damaged laundry items, bed sheets and nets.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold a National Form IV Certificate of Secondary Education together with a certificate in Hospitality Management or an equivalent field from a recognized institution.

- Applicants must be citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania and must not be above 45 years of age. Different age limits may apply to vacancies in paramilitary institutions.
