Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Assist in data collection for on-farm and on-station experiments.
- Assist in maintaining research findings and records.
- Assist senior researchers in preparing research reports.
- Perform any other official duties assigned by the reporting officer.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold a Bachelor Degree in Statistics or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Minimum qualification: Upper Second Class, with a GPA of 3.5.
2. Research Officer II – Range Management – 2 Posts
Position: Research Officer II – Range Management

Salary Scale: PRSS 2
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in data collection, data cleaning, and searching for relevant literature.
- Assist senior researchers in preparing research proposals and regular reports.
- Assist senior researchers in disseminating research findings.
- Perform any other official duties assigned by the reporting officer.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have a Master Degree in Range Management from a recognized institution.
Applicants must also:
- Have attained at least 3.5 GPA out of 5.0 at Bachelor Degree level.
- Have an overall minimum grade of B+ for unclassified Bachelor Degrees.
- Have a Master Degree related to the Bachelor Degree.
3. Livestock Attendants – 14 Posts
Position: Livestock Attendant
Number of Posts: 14
Salary Scale: POSS 2
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will perform duties including:
- Cleaning pens, bomas, sheds, and equipment.
- Carrying out dipping, dehorning, disbudding, debeaking, and other related operations.
- Carrying out milking and egg collection.
- Taking care of experimental animals.
- Maintaining registers of Institute properties, livestock, visitors, incoming and outgoing items, and assets.
- Conducting regular day and night patrols around Institute boundaries.
- Checking and ensuring doors, windows, inlets, and outlets are properly closed after office hours.
- Switching off lights when they are not in use.
- Ensuring Institute properties taken outside the office are properly registered and authorized.
- Reporting any problems that may occur.
- Performing other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess:
- Form IV Certificate; and
- Government and National Service Training and/or Militia Training Phase II and/or any other form of military training.
A Certificate of General Animal Husbandry or Crop Husbandry from FDC, VETA, or another recognized institution will be an added advantage.
4. Research Officer II – Rural Development – 1 Post
